Op der Lay was founded in 1993 by Renée Weber and Robert Gollo Steffen in Diekirch, with some book titles already being published under this label since 1987.

Many authors who are now among the most respected writers in Luxembourg were discovered by Op der Lay and we are very grateful that most of them have remained loyal to our publishing house since the publication of their first work.

As a small independent publisher, we have also remained true to ourselves and continue to support a diverse cultural landscape to the best of our ability.
